COVID-19 vaccines are safe for pregnant and nursing women

Congratulations! Dr. Zaher Merhi was a featured guest on  NBCLX which aired live on August 12, 2021.

In the segment, Dr. Merhi discussed the new CDC data that the COVID-19 vaccines are safe for pregnant and nursing women. Dr. Merhi stated, “If we look at the vaccine physiologically, it’s an mRNA vaccine. When a patient is vaccinated, the mRNA doesn’t go into their system, it stays in the muscle of their arm while the body produces antibodies. These antibodies are what circulate in their body and into their breast milk. That’s why both mechanistically speaking and backed by the data so far, the vaccine is shown to be safe for nursing moms.”

The segment credited Dr. Merhi as an OBGYN and the founder of Rejuvenating Fertility Center.
