DR. ZAHER MERHI

MD, FACOG, HCLD

Medical Director, CEO, Founder

Dr. Merhi is the founder and the medical director of Rejuvenating Fertility Center (RFC). He is an internationally recognized fertility doctor, lecturer, editor, and grant reviewer. His training and faculty appointments included Albert Einstein College of Medicine, NYU School of Medicine, and University of Vermont. He is currently a Professor at SUNY Downstate University and Maimonides Medical Center, and the Director of the Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Fellowship program. He has three American Board certifications in OB/GYN, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, and High-Complexity Laboratory Director (HCLD).

Dr Merhi is an active researcher with an interest in women with Low Ovarian Reserve (low AMH or high FSH), ovarian rejuvenation, gentle stimulation IVF, natural IVF, and IVF without injectables. His research also focuses on technologies, such as Ozone Sauna, that could improve egg quality especially in women with endometriosis, immune disorders, and PCOS. Dr. Merhi is also experienced in treating overweight women and those who had weight loss surgery. He is a strong proponent of the LGBTQ community and has proudly served the Arabic and Jewish Communities for over two decades.

Dr Merhi was awarded TOP OBGYN Doctor 2019 and 2020, and TOP Reproductive Endocrinologist and Infertility specialist by New York magazine. He received twice a Star Award from the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM). He has published over 90 manuscripts and book chapters and he continues to present his research at national and international scientific conferences. He serves as a Chair, on several committees such as the NIH, ASRM, New England Fertility Society, Society for Reproductive Investigation (SRI), and Endocrine Society.

DR. MARCO MOUANNESS

MD

Co-Founder

 

Dr. Mouanness is RFCʼs director of internal medical affairs and one of the founding members of Rejuvenating Fertility Center. He earned his medical degree from St Joseph University with high distinction. He completed his Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at the American University of Beirut Medical Center after which he spent time in U.S. mastering novel infertility treatments and specifically Gentle IVF. He currently serves as the main physician in the fully equipped CT location (monitoring site, embryology lab and operating room).

He received multiple awards for academic achievements and teaching and presented in several international conferences. He published in multiple laparoscopic, urogynecological and obstetrical journals, wrote book chapters about gynecological conditions, and served as a reviewer for several medical journals.

Dr Mouanness is a published author and expert on several fertility topics such as ovarian rejuvenation, PCOS, endometriosis, recurrent implantation failure, and impact of COVID-19 on fertility and pregnancy.

DR.  NASTARAN FOYOUZI

MD

Nastaran Foyouzi is a double board-certified subspecialist in both Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and Medical Genetics. She did her internship at Yale, then residency at Washington University in St Louis, followed by a fellowship at UCSF (University of California San Francisco) and University of Michigan. 

Dr. Foyouzi is one of very few reproductive endocrinologists in the United States with vast knowledge and training in medical genetics. Her professional background has prepared her extensively to help couples make their dream of parenthood a reality. She thrives on solving the complex genetics inherent to reproductive failure and considers the results of her efforts – healthy children – the greatest reward of her work. Dr. Foyouzi is passionate about helping women understand their basic fertility potential, including the role that genetics may play in causing infertility and pregnancy loss, and providing solutions to these problems. She also has a special interest in fertility preservation for inherited cancer patients, Preimplantation Genetic Testing for HLA typing or for families with an affected child with a genetic disease as well as embryo selection for people who are at risk for having affected child to a genetic disease or mitochondrial disease. Her goal is to help every patient to make smart, informed, and individualized decisions about their options for planning a family. She is also a member of ACMG position statement committee on Preimplantation Genetic testing for polygenic risk screening on embryos and chair of workshop committee on transferring embryos with mosaic results.

DR. CARLA WILLIAMS

MD

Dr. Carla Williams is a board-certified gynecologist and holistic women’s healthcare provider, with interest in infertility. She strives to provide patient-centered and individualized care, combining conventional and complementary medical practices. She was born and raised in New York. She attended her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln, affiliated with Weill Cornell Medical College, in Bronx, New York. Dr. Williams has undergone additional training in functional and integrative women’s health with a focus on alternative fertility therapies.

DR. CARMEN LLOPIZ-VALLE

MD

Dr Llopiz-Valle is a board-certified gynecologist with expertise in infertility. Following her training at Yale University, she became the Director of the OBGYN Residency Program at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, for 12 years.

 Dr Llopiz-Valle lives on Long Island and will work in the Jericho location. She is fluent in Spanish.
